BJP - Disintegration or Reintegration

The recent developments in BJP have prompted many experts and political rivals to write off BJP as one more political party that will disintegrate over a period of time. But they will rise from the ashes in next couple of years.

It is widely believed that BJP is political arm of RSS and is decision making body of BJP.The statement is not completely false, because most of BJP's functionaries are RSS members. Hence if there are any tough decision to be taken, they consult RSS.

From the inception of RSS.RSS believed that people with age less than 60 years should lead the organization. If you look at the past and present chief's of RSS are/were less than 60 years, expect for Prof Rajendra Singh and Shri Kuppahalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan. The present chief of RSS - Dr Mohan Madhukar Bhagwat is less than 60 years. He is around 58 years. Recently Mohan Bhagwat was advocating the people with age more than 60 years should make way for the younger lot in organization. This is not something new which he was advocating, this was being practiced since its inception.

The recent shakeup in BJP is done keeping this mind. The sidelining or removal of senior leaders is to make way for younger lot of people. The most important aspect of the shakeup is timing.
1. Three states are going into general assembly election - Maharashtra,Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh. Expect for Maharashtra,BJP has little or no presence in other two states. Even in Maharashtra they are doing well. Hence the recent shakeup will not have much effect in these elections.
2. The tenure of BJP office bearer's are ending in December. Hence the smooth transfer of roles from senior leaders to younger lot.
3. Preparing for next Lok Sabha much ahead of other political parties.

I end this blog with the hope BJP will come back stronger with the younger intellectual leaders in the coming years.
